22 April 2015 – The annual World Book Day promotes reading, publishing and copyright. The South African celebrations will take place in Gauteng with a Door-to-Door reading awareness campaign, book donations and a special message from Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.
23 April 2015 - The City of Joburg and mobile network provider Vodacom have set up an emergency operations service and centre that the public can use to report xenophobia related incidents via mobile phone and get an immediate response from the city.
24 March 2015 - From 1 April 2015 the Department of Basic Education will begin implementation of the '1+4 Model' aimed at boosting mathematics teachers performance in the senior phase. This teacher development plan entails one day of learning and four days of structured, effective and guided teaching.
9 March 2015 - In his key note address for the 15th Annual National Teaching Awards, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa called the awarded teachers shining examples of teaching excellence, that all teachers should strive to emulate.
