15 January 2015 - Seven "paperless" classrooms were launched in Gauteng township schools on Wednesday as part of the province's pilot "Big Switch On" project, which aims to turn ordinary schools into the digital classrooms of the future, connecting learners to a world of better educational opportunities.
12 January 2015 - On 5 January Vodacom launched its education portal called Vodacom e-school. It will serve as a learning platform with Internet access to education content for all grades 10-12 high school South African learners.
14 January 2015 – First at a special breakfast hosted at Vodaworld and later during the live broadcast of the 2014 Matric Results, the 23 Top Achievers celebrated their outstanding results with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Basic Education. The 2014 cohort is the first to have written the CAPS curriculum exams.
