SAASTA aims to bring science to life by communicating to the public and steering young minds to careers in science, technology and innovation.
18 March 206 - In the new Planetarium at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre learners can find out more about the celestial bodies that affect our planet and its inhabitants and increase their chances to become astronauts. The Planetarium has been donated by the Chinese government as part of the co-operation agreement between the Department of Basic Education and China and was officially opened by Minister Motshekga.
23 February 2016 – This year’s Vodacom Super Rugby will not only offer more teams, more games and more tries but also more books and knowledge. For every try scored by a South African team Vodacom will donate R7 000 towards setting up e-libraries and donating books to schools in communities that need it most.
10 February 2016 - Nal’ibali, the national reading-for-enjoyment campaign, is calling on the nation to help them pass on the power of stories and set a read-aloud record this World Read Aloud Day, 24 February 2016.
