30 September 2014 – It is a sad reality that many children in South Africa don't have access to books, let alone to books in their own language. As part of the 1 Million Books campaign Biblionef South Africa has started the #MyLanguageMyHeritage fundraising drive to open the magical world of reading to as many children as possible.
22 September 2014 – On Friday 12 September the Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty, Gauteng Education MEC, Mr Panyaza Lesufi and Ms Nadi Albino of UNICEF launched the Ukufunda Virtual School application at the Sci-Bono Centre in Johannesburg.
3 September 2014 – In her speech for the National Book Week Roadshow, Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture Mabudafhasi reiterated the Department's strategy to promote a culture of reading and writing and cultivate a sustainable book industry that supports equitable development of all South African languages.
2 September 2014 - With a tour of graduation and induction ceremonies across the country, the second year of the Youth Skills Academy is officially being kicked off. The ceremonies are hosted in the Vodacom Teacher Centres.
